Agent: Mr Sam Hope, The Rosery, New Place, Uckfield, TN22 5DP. Buxted Parish Council response to Wealden District Council: No objection, recommend approval.

Including a proposed gate to existing access point leading to 6 new parking bays. Applicant: Mr & Mrs Duncan Agent: Turner Associates Buxted Parish Council response to Wealden District Council: The parish council are concerned about the extent that this substantial development would have on neighbouring properties - with concerns over light pollution and the height of this design.
Planning applications considered by email consultation, due to the deadline set by Wealden District Council for the parish council’s response:
Application No. WD/2017/2256/F Location: Hurstwood Farm, Royal Oak Lane, High Hurstwood. Description: Conversion of part of agricultural barn to a laundry room to service the adjacent holiday lets. Applicant: Mr M Pocock, Hurstwood Farm, Royal Oak Lane, High Hurstwood. Application No. WD/2017/2191/F Location: Reads Farm, Rocks Lane, High Hurstwood. Description: Residential dwelling for farm owner/manager and change of use of land to residential curtilage. Applicant: Mr Nigel Reader, 8 Rotherview Burwash East Sussex TN19 7BN Agent: David Hall & Co, 12 Park Road Haywards Heath East Sussex RH16 4HZ Buxted Parish Council response to WDC: The parish council object to this application. This is not a conversion of existing farm buildings but a new build within the High Weald AONB . The land was bought with the knowledge of what was available and manageable. Citing reasons for a new build being an increase in flock is dubitable, the numbers stated utilise to the maximum potential of the land available taking into consideration sheep ratio per acre. A two-storey three bedroomed house and all that goes with it is excessive for the purposes referred to in the application. (Why not create a welfare unit - there is already a redundant building shown on the plans) The new build would require new access route from the single lane farm track – which is also a public footpath - up to the house One large barn has already been erected, without prior planning consent, which can be visibly seen from the Church in High Hurstwood and surrounding, and a second barn has been approved conditionally, the house would sit above these barns – all of which are becoming a prominent and overbearing feature on the landscape of High Hurstwood. The house would overlook the valley in which there are many residential dwellings.
To discuss any planning applications received from Wealden District Council after the publication of the agenda that are available on the District Planning website.
Cllr Roberts left the building for the following agenda item.
