Former Grampian Country Food Site, Crowborough Road, Five Ash Down, TN22 3AH.

Outline application for the re development of former Grampian Country Food Factory site for up to 13 new homes and associated works and access. Buxted Parish Council response to WDC: Some concern was raised that some of the properties are effectively three stories with rooms in the room space. There was also some concern that car parking is already at a premium on this site (due to the existing residential development) and that any development on this site could exacerbate this.

However, it is noted that the site already has the benefit of planning permission for light industrial and that the proposed residential use would be less intrusive. It was therefore agreed that the parish council would recommend approval but does have concerns regarding any exacerbation of parking issues at the site.

‘Within 2 weeks of the new access being brought into use, the existing access shown on the submitted plans shall be formally closed up and the kerb, footway and verge reinstated in accordance with details submitted to and approved in writing by the Highway Authority. REASON: To ensure the safety of persons and vehicles entering and leaving the access and proceeding along the highway in the interests of the visual amenities of the locality having regard to Saved Policy TR3 of the adopted Wealden Local Plan, coupled with the requirements of paragraph 32 of the National Planning Policy Framework 2012’.
