Enforcement: WDC have issued 2 formal enforcement notices:

Location: Land at Taylors Pond, Lower Totease Farm, Buxted, East Sussex

Details: ‘Without planning permission, change of use of the building (“the Fishing Lodge”) from use as a fishing lodge to a mixed use as a fishing lodge and for residential purposes.

Reasons for issuing this notice:

(i) It appears to the Council that the above breach of planning control has occurred within the last ten years.

(ii) The unauthorised use of the Fishing Cabin on the Land which lies within the countryside, outside of any development boundary, is considered to inappropriate and unjustified within this locality and as

such is considered contrary to various WDC Policies’.

and

‘without planning permission, the carrying out of enlargement and extension works to the building, increasing

the size of the Fishing Lodge from that approved on 7th August 2007 under planning reference WD/2007/1856/FR. REASONS FOR ISSUING THIS NOTICE:

i) It appears to the Council that the above breach of planning control has occurred within the last four years. The unauthorised development was substantially completed less than four years ago.

ii) The unauthorised works to the Fishing Lodge, which lies within the countryside outside of any development boundary, are considered to be unjustified on normal planning grounds, in the absence of any

know or proven agricultural or forestry need’.
