Upcoming Events at the Ashdown Forest Centre

Please find below a list of events that are coming up over the summer at Ashdown Forest.

Friday 2 August – Walk with the Grazing Team 2:00pm (Booking essential)

There are still a few spaces on the walk with the grazing team on Friday 2nd August at 2pm. They will visit some of our animals in the temporary enclosures, talk about the grazing animals and why they are important for the conservation of heathland. The walk will be suitable for children 8 and over. Sorry, NO DOGS please. The walk is planned to finish at the National Cats Centre. Tuesday 6 August – Amazing Minibeast Day 10:30am —3:00pm (Drop-in)

This is a change to the published event

Come on a minibeast walk and find out who is living in the grasslands and meadows near the Ashdown Forest Centre.  (11am, 12noon, 2pm and 3pm and last approximately half an hour). Make a clay minibeast sculpture to take home and play the Bee game

 

Friday 9 August – Walk with East Chase Ranger 11:00am (Booking essential)

Places still available

Join the Ranger for a walk around the East Chase. The walk will last between 1.5 and 2 hours. Suitable for accompanied children 8 and over.

 

Saturday 10 August – Bat Talk with Jenny Clark 11:30am– 1:30pm (Booking advised)

Come along and meet some of our native bat species. Jenny Clark from the Sussex Bat Hospital will be talking about bats and the work she does to care for injured bats at her Bat Hospital. She will be bringing some bats along for you to see.

 

Monday 12 August – Walk with North Chase Ranger 2:00pm (Booking essential)

Places still available

Join the Ranger for a walk around the North Chase. The walk will last between 1.5 and 2 hours. Suitable for accompanied children 8 and over.

 

Tuesday 20 August – Walk with South Chase Ranger 11:00am (Booking essential)

Places still available

Join the Ranger for a walk around the South Chase. The walk will last between 1.5 and 2 hours. Suitable for accompanied children 8 and over.

 

Sunday 1st September – Forest Way Storytellers (booking information to follow)

We will be holding Pop-Up cafes on weekends during August – please check our facebook page for details
