Buxted Community Hall Trust Seventh Annual General Meeting 5 February 2019

TUESDAY 5th February 2019, commencing at 7-30pm

The AGM of the new hall Charitable Company/Trust will take place in the Reading Room, Church Road, Buxted as shown above.

In addition to the normal business of the AGM for the financial year ending 30th April 2018, the director/trustees regret to state that they will be making a formal proposal to dissolve the charitable company as soon as is practicable and thus discontinue their direct involvement in managing the BCHT project. All the trustees are bound to resign at the AGM but are prepared to be re-elected to undertake the administrative work needed to complete the dissolution of the charitable company.

They will propose that the assets of the BCHT be donated to the Basil Ionides Memorial Centre, which is a registered charity having very similar charitable objects to those of BCHT that appear to satisfy the BCHT Company Articles of Association and the Charity Commissioner’s requirements in a dissolution situation.

However, should enough suitable persons put themselves forward to take on the responsibilities of director/trustees for BCHT and undertake to continue with the Trust’s stated aims and objectives, the current management board would be happy to reconsider their proposal to close the charitable company.

If anyone wants further information about the AGM or the dissolution proposal, please contact the undersigned by email:   enquiries@buxtedvillagehall.co.uk

George Claydon      (Company Secretary)
