 Minutes of the Buxted Parish Council Planning Committee meeting 13th March 2018

                                                                       

 

Present: Cllrs Blandford (Chairman), Roberts, Rose, and Cox. Also present at this meeting: Mrs C Feltham and Miss B Macklen – Clerks to the Parish Council.

 

 

Public: Four members of public present at this meeting.

 

One member of public spoke in respect of item 4.2 on this agenda (Millwood Lane):

We would like the parish council to object to this planning application for the following reasons:

·         It is overdevelopment of a narrow strip of land

·         It would be contrary to local WDC planning policies

·         The proposed dwelling would be at bottom of our garden, would suffer loss of privacy, and be overlooked.

·         It is out of character and would have detrimental effect on the saleability and value of surrounding properties.

·         This could set a precedent about building in gardens.

·         We have submitted the objection to WDC.

Description: Brick and UVPC orangery to north east elevation.

Buxted Parish Council response to Wealden District Council: No objections, recommend approval.

Description: Erection of one dwelling, access, landscaping and associated infrastructure.

Buxted Parish Council response to Wealden District Council: This would be overdevelopment of the site, with loss of privacy to surrounding properties, and contrary to the Ashdown Forest SPA policies, and therefore the parish council object to this planning application.

Location: Hurstwood View, Linum Lane, Five Ash Down, Uckfield, TN22 3FH

Description: Proposed extension of existing Hurstwood View care home to create 8 new bedrooms, additional day space and 17 car parking spaces.

Applicant: Barchester Healthcare Ltd

Buxted Parish Council response to Wealden District Council: From various points in High Hurstwood this development is already quite prominent within the landscape and would be concerned if there were to be any additional development. The parish council do not object to this application.

Application: WD/2018/0178/F

Location: Old Orchard, Framfield Road, Buxted, TN22 4PP.

Description: Extension of detached garage in the form of a modified aircraft fuselage.

Applicant: Mr Robert Patterson.

Agent: V R Designs.

Response from Buxted Parish Council to Wealden District Council: The parish council have considered this application and feel that the use of an aircraft fuselage would not be in keeping with the surrounding area. On this occasion the parish council do not feel that they can recommend approval and will await to see the decision by Wealden District Council – as they have not seen such an application before. If WDC are minded approving this unusual addition to the property perhaps some notice can be taken of the request, by a near neighbour, that screening is provided, as it is not as discreet, in the landscape, as the planning proposal might suggest.

Description: This application is for alterations to the external finishes approved under application WD/2017/0604/F.

Response from Buxted Parish Council to Wealden District Council: The parish council do not feel that they have enough expertise to comment on the change to these new materials and will therefore leave the decision to WDC.
