Present: Cllrs Blandford (Chairman), Roberts, Rose, Cox and McQuarrie. Also present at this meeting: Mrs C Feltham and Miss B Macklen – Clerks to the Parish Council.

 

 

Public: One member of public present at this meeting.

The applicant of item 4.1 of this agenda, Mr Baldwin, introduced himself and explained his intention was to make the new dwelling a home for his family.

Description: Demolition of existing buildings and erection of 1 dwelling.

Response from Buxted Parish Council: this new dwelling will be within an area on AONB and close to the Ashdown Forest. The parish council note that from the traffic report the new dwelling will create less traffic movements than its current use. The applicant attended this meeting and confirmed that this property would be for residential purposes only. The parish council have no objection to this application, subject to it conforming with the necessary Wealden District policies.

Location: White Rose Cottage, 1 The Walled Garden, Five Ash Down, TN22 3AJ

Description: Single storey rear extension and porch extension.

Buxted Parish Council response to Wealden District Council: no objection, recommend approval.

Location: Herons Hall, Uckfield Road, Herons Ghyll, TN22 4BY

Description: this is a resubmission of application WD/2013/1419/F that was approved on 10/09/2013. The proposal comprises the construction of an extension at first floor level and at second floor level over the existing flat roof areas.

Buxted Parish Council response to Wealden District Council: the parish council commented that as long as the conservation officer has been consulted, and does not object, then we have no objection and recommend approval.

 

Application No: WD/2017/2562/F

Location: The Hollies, Coopers Green Road, Uckfield, TN22 3AA

Description: Amended plans (2/2/18) show a reduction in height: Two storey extension of ancillary garage/workshop/storage area and demolition of prefabricated domestic three bar garage.

Applicant:  Mr Peter Hall

Agent: Batcheller Monkhouse

Buxted Parish Council response to Wealden District Council:  the parish council have no objection to this application subject to the garages being ancillary to the main dwelling. The parish council would stand by their previous comments and hope that if this is intended for business use that a change of use application would be submitted to WDC.

Location: Howbourne Farm, Howbourne Lane, Buxted, TN22 4QD

Description: Alterations for the conversion of the first floor of a two-storey barn for use ancillary to the dwelling house and alterations for the conversion of two single storey barns to small scale bed and breakfast accommodation.

Response from Buxted Parish Council to Wealden District Council: no objections, recommend approval.  Members of the parish council commented that this was a good planning application, with extensive heritage reports which give good recommendation’s.

Location: Heath Holt, Howbourne Lane, Buxted, TN22 4QB

Description: Erection of single storey rear extension.

Response from Buxted Parish Council to Wealden District Council: no objections, recommend approval.

 

Application: WD/2018/0081/F

Location:  Totease House, Station Road, Buxted, TN22 4DP

Description: The replacement of existing roadside fencing and entrance gates with acoustic fencing and entrance gates.

Response from Buxted Parish Council to Wealden District Council: It would have been better to have an image of the actual gates rather than an example as it is somewhat of a shame to lose the sandstone entrance. If WDC are happy with the replacement close boarded type fence in this high-profile location, the PC would raise no objection.
