Saturday 11, November sees the East Hoathly and Halland local bonfire event. To ensure that the event runs smoothly and in the interests of public safety, please take into account the following information.
From 13:00 on Saturday 11th November the main A22 road will be subject to a temporary 30 mph speed limit restriction between Crockstead and Whitesmith as well as Easons Green and Terrible Down.
From 16:00 on Saturday 11th November no vehicles will be allowed to park along the A22. After 16:00 any vehicles parked along the carriageway will be towed away and can collected at the end of the evening.
Road closures and parking restrictions will be in place in the village itself from 5pm on Saturday, 11 November.
This is a family friendly event which will see the procession ending at the war memorial playing fields with a spectacular bonfire and fireworks display. We advise those who are attending on foot and who will be walking home, to consider bringing battery operated torches or to wear some reflective clothing so you are clearly visible to motorists.
We have worked closely with the event organisers and our partner agencies to ensure that the event is a safe and enjoyable experience for all attending.
Many thanks for your cooperation during this event,
