Buxted Parish Council response to Wealden District Council: The parish council recommend approval of the extension, however object to the polytunnel as it is in full view of the neighbouring properties, and are aware of the neighbours’ concerns about this.

Planning applications considered by email consultation, due to the deadline set by Wealden District Council for the parish council’s response:

Application No. WD/2017/0472/F

Location: Lower Totease Farm

Description: Erection of a single-storey ‘L’ shaped extension to the existing workshop building together with elevational alterations to provide for increased workshop space and an enclosed storage area for the parking and display of cars.

Response submitted to Wealden District Council: Buxted Parish Council are concerned that this would cause an increase in traffic movements which may contravene the rules regarding new traffic movements within surrounding area of Ashdown Forest area. The parish council are therefore unable to approve or recommend refusal, until further advice is received from WDC.

Application No. WD/2017/0514/AI

Location: Crow and Gate

Description: 1 no. externally illuminated post sign, 1 no. non-illuminated set of letters, 1 no. non-illuminated hanging sign, 1 no. externally illuminated area of signwriting.

Response to Wealden District Council: Buxted Parish Council recommend approval for this application, if the new signage does not cause any sight restrictions to vehicles entering and exiting the premises onto this very busy road. The parish council would also request that the lights are turned off when the pub is closed to minimise light pollution.http://www.planning.wealden.gov.uk/plandisp.aspx?recno=137536

Application No. WD/2017/0494/F

Location: The Old Vicarage East, High Street, Buxted.

Description: Single storey rear extension.

Response to Wealden District Council:

Buxted Parish Council recommend approval subject to the following: 1) that the neighbours do not object – The parish council also had concerns over whether this would impact on the neighbour’s light. 2) the parish council would ask if a condition could be included that a second storey could not be added to the extensions in the future as this would seriously impinge on properties either side.

As stated at the beginning of this meeting: ‘Applicant of item 5.3 spoke in respect of his application and advised that with regards to our request for no second storey addition, in fact his neighbours’ had already set a precedence by having their own two storey extension in this position. The parish council noted the comments made by the applicant and would judge any further planning application on its own merit’.
