Burglaries ‘other than dwelling’ (OTD)

Hyperion Avenue, Polegate – shed break
Between Sunday 5 and Friday 10 March, a shed belonging to a garden society was broken into from which a strimmer and hedge trimmer was stolen.

Timberlaine, Road Pevensey Bay – garage break
Between 3pm on Saturday 11 and 10.15am on the morning of Sunday 12 March, a garage was broken into with five bicycles stolen. The mountain bikes, one of which had a pedal missing, included two silver Boardmans Hybrids valued between £500 and £700, a white Hybrid valued at £500, a black Apollo and a Carella Hybrid

Tinkers Lane, Hadlow Down – break to stables 
Between midday and 4pm on Monday 13 March, stables were broken into and horse tack with a value of approximately £500 was stolen.

Withyham, Hartfield – barn break
Thieves stole an air rifle, but fortunately nothing further, when they were interrupted during a burglary at a barn in Withyham on Monday evening this week, (13 March). The owner was alerted by the dog’s barking and on checking outside, disturbed the culprits before they had time to steal anything else.

Five Ashes, Mayfield – shed break
Between Sunday 13 March and 2pm on Thursday 16 March, a property in Five Ashes had the shed broken into and tools, which included chainsaws and a drill and with a value of approximately £700, were stolen.

Plawhatch Lane, Sharpthorne – garage and sheds break
Between 6pm and 9pm on Wednesday 15 March at a property in Plawhatch Lane, a garage and two sheds were broken into. A quantity of tools were stolen, amongst which was a Globe Master wood chipper valued at £2,200. Also taken was a petrol strimmer and a Makita drill.

Windmill Road, Polegate – theft
Radiators and a boiler tank placed outside a house in Windmill Road were stolen at approximately 12.30 in the afternoon of Tuesday 14 March. A white van with ‘HODGKENS’ sign-written on the side was seen at the time as the driver closed the rear doors before driving off.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen this van or have knowledge of its whereabouts. For information relating to this, or the incident itself, please contact us quoting reference 864 of 14/03

Theft from motor vehicles

Huntingdon Road, Crowborough – theft of tools from a van
A contractor’s van, a silver Ford, was targeted by thieves after it was locked and parked overnight on Wednesday 15 March in Huntingdon Road. Between 7.15pm that evening and 6.45am the next morning, Makita, Dewalt and Sein power tools with an approximate total value of £400, were stolen following a search of the van.

Wych Warren, Forest Row – theft of tools from a van
A white transit van parked overnight on private property in Forest Row was targeted by thieves who stole electrical items and tools as well as the owner’s wallet containing cash and cards. The incident is believed to have happened between 6.30pm in the evening of Wednesday 15 March and the following morning at approximately 8.50am.

Martins Gardens, Crowborough – theft of tools from a van
Overnight between 4.30pm on Wednesday 15 March and 8.30am on the morning of Thursday 16 March, tools were stolen from inside a works van. The power tools, Makita and Bosch, totalled an approximate value of £800. A toolbox with hand tools was also stolen.
